If you enjoyed last week's Extreme Warfare Deluxe video, this one should be even better!
We stop faffing with paperwork and contracts and actually start booking shows!
How does my Spring of 2001 go with this fantasy WCW? Step on the ropes to find out!
For any trans people who need to hear this:
Your body is beautiful. You're worthy of being desired, if that's something you want.
Whether you choose to transition (and in whatever direction you want), and wherever you are in that process -- you're seen, you are believed, and I'm proud to be your sibling.
When you look in the mirror, you deserve to hear, "Hey, Beautiful." If you don't hear it in your voice, hear it in mine.
Your strength is incredible. You come from a long tradition of transgender people, stretching back to the earliest days of humanity.
Let the haters shout into the void. You don't need to. The Void already loves you. ✨
(cis people please boost)
Are there any folks out there who know about #antiquesewingmachines or can point me in the right direction?
This is a Hengestenberg Regina, made in (about) 1890.
It belonged to my Great Grandmother, and has been passed down to me. The hand crank works and the needle goes up and down, but the bobbin winder doesn't work due to the rubber wheel being very old and seizing. I've got a new one on order, so I am hoping that will work and I will be able to fill the bobbin and see if it will sew!
What the hell was the name of that coloured hair gel around in 1999/2000ish that came in a blue pump bottle about the size of a deodorant stick?
I can't find it and I've been through loads of nostalgia list articles tonight.
Thought it was Wella. Might be wrong.
And yes, I did also put this on birdsite, but I'm living in hope
by the way, if you're interested in how #teletext art works (and how complicated it is to produce) I wrote a blog post about it!
Lastly, if you see any nasty stuff appear in your timeline, you can block the person, and you can report the content to alert one of the moderators or tell me and bunty directly and we can suspend that person from our instance so no one here has to put up with nastiness.
Thank you all, and stay 💗
There are some you might not have thought of too, like selfies with eye contact which can affect the many autistic folk who are here because other social networks simply aren't considerate to that type of thing. Also, if you're uploading an image, it's considered good manners to set a description on it too. You can do that by clicking on the image before you toot it, and provide some context for our partially sighted or blind friends. I like to write a bit of extra content there too :)
You might have noticed you can do content warnings on your toots. If there's potential triggering content (politics, health stuff, food stuff, sexual stuff, common phobia triggers, flashing gifs) please use a content warning. Don't worry about not getting seen! It's different here, people take the time to interact and be social, and they appreciate the warnings and will click to see what wonders are beyond them :)
